ABOUT ME


I am an independent photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Hardwick, Vermont. I started making pictures in 2006, studied Photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and have spent the last two decades working across daily newsrooms, editorial assignments, commercial production, and documentary wedding coverage.


When I am not shooting a wedding, I still keep a camera with me everywhere, photographing nature, the aurora & night sky, and daily life in America. You can see some of this work as well as order some selected prints at joshkuckens.com.

I love to hike, snowshoe, stargaze, and to take back roads to get there (my car's suspension be damned.) My fiancée Emily and I also love to bird, listen to good music, and be endlessly entertained by our animals.
